Sitting under a weeping willow,
At twilight, on a bench in the park,
My friend always cheerful, said
‘I feel so tense and distraught,

The stale air in the house
Makes me feel like going away.
I feel I live with a stranger,
And look back wistfully on the day

We took our vows to stand by
Each other in joy and grief.
Now he just hits the sack
And we just exchange a brief

Nod. I wonder if grandma was better
Off, education hasn’t changed
Our status from weaker sex
Am at odds, as I feel alienated.

Wish could go some place,
I feel I can be happier alone.’
‘Know what you mean, the rat race
Sounded the death toll

Of marital bliss, we all need
Love, joy and companionship.
I feel men too are not having it easy
With performance record as a whip.

At times in growing up
We grow away, like a river
Changing course. Time only will tell
It’s getting cold, I see you shiver.’

Come home, we girls
at least share a unique bond.
it works like a therapy
and eases the mind a lot.
