Your cries brought alarm for us.
We did everything that needed to be done, guess you just wanted to fuss.
You continued to wear us out.
As you proceeded to fuss about.
We didn’t know what else to do.
So we started to play with you.
It brought a smile, it brought a laugh.
Thank God, we smiled at each other in relief.
But then you started to cry again and we stared at each other
in disbelief.
Oh great, we thought here we go again.
But then you broke out in the cutest grin.
Soon we found out what you were grinning about.
We guessed even in your eyes we were a family.
A tear fell from both of our cheeks.
As our love grew stronger for our perfect little Joseph, whose diaper reeked!
