These inventions whose mother
We all know as necessity;
Too hard to deny this bastard child
While it suckles at her breast,
Especially when it's announced in public documents,
And under "mother's name" on the birth certificate.
But who the father is we hardly ever know;
Unless the invention proves successful.
Then the fathers start crawling out
From the woodwork, line up around the block
With presents and convincing
Baby pictures as proof.
