Conscience,
A child, innocent
pure, untainted
playing hide and seek
When it shows up, it laughs
That sounds like temple bells
And hands come together
Unknowingly to greet.

Conscience, like Meerabai
Clad in flawless whites
Her fingers create music, serene
Her face tranquil
And her eyes closed
But the Lord, forever
United with her soul.
