rain taps at window
wind pushes open door so
moonlight may enter.

*

through the open door
snow sneaks in...covers letters
on the WELCOME mat

*

through the letter box
a snow storm of Christmas cards
covers sleepy cat

*

long shafts of sunlight
delivered through letterbox
only post today

*

hand stretched to limit
stuck through letterbox just not
able to reach – key.

*

a Monday morning
bills & more bills welcome me
on new WELCOME mat.

*

an old door with new
lick of paint blazes yellow
as a daffodil

*

old dear comfy chair
can’t hear the milkman’s whistle
being dead a week now

*

Spring assaults the bees
assaulting the new flowers
amongst the tombstones
