Two cups of hot chamomile tea and a cigarette
A young, good looking and attentive waiter
who greeted us with a smile
as he brought our tea.
I remember the warm, summer, evening
that we spent together
happily chatting and killing time
while gingerly comparing notes.
You candidly revealed your secrets
while the soft smoke of your cigarette
gently enveloped us in his slow
mesmerizing dance of veils.
It's funny how some things stick to your mind
the scent of your perfume, the plastic chairs,
the white table top...
Joyful minutes that are part of a story
A shared moment
The little girl that I once carried in my arms
Now a grown woman.
