Wendy Bureau - Ambivalent Attraction

Drawn to an ambivalent attraction
With greedy avidity and avert eyes
Love and hate walk hand in hand
'Pon the depths of blackest skies

A want of strength, undeniable
Yet, weak of will, such easy prey
Drawing thee, on Lover's string
Hatred's shade, of darkest grey

Good versus evil, in laymen’s terms
Bares battle, of timeless flight
Angel of mercy, with demonic wings
Soars rampant, through the night

Savor the taste of one that betters
Embrace love, in all its truth
Hate not of those who hate
Beat strong, the heart of youth
