Tim Vallie - A Farewell

Fires dull to ember, as water douses flame
I fade into the darkness, leaving not but name
My deeds forever finished, my final song in sung
I go now to my resting place, the Reaper's Bell has rung
My light is dimming quickly, as my vision slowly fades
I go now to the Afterlife, to join all other shades
Perhaps I'll rest in heaven, perhaps I'll rot in hell
Until you see me either way I guess you'll never tell
I go now to the light, through the darkness I must walk
Forgive me if I seem distracted but I've no longer time for talk
I go now to the Maker, for the judgment of my deeds
I only hope some good I left in the sewing of my seeds
I walk now into the shadows, with the Reaper at my side
There is no use resisting him, from Death we cannot hide
Good bye my dearest loved ones, I'll truly miss you all
I'm thankful you were at my side when into darkness I did fall
I love you for eternity, you'll remain within my heart
Though the realms of divinity shall keep us far apart
Someday we'll meet once more, in the life after our death
But now I must be leaving, this is my final breath
