If you engage me in conversation,
I will tell you what I think,
If you ask me for my opinion,
I will give it,
If I ask for yours,
It's because I really want to hear it,
If you have something to say,
I will listen,
If it's a secret,
I won't tell another soul,
If you tell me an untruth,
I will call you on it,
If you do something to hurt me,
I will let you know,
And if it's sincere,
I will accept your apology,
And forgive you,
Know that I am true blue,
And I am not afraid of the truth,
Even if it hurts,
Know that I am as real,
As any sunrise or sunset,
If I hurt you by error,
Tell me and,
I will apologize and do my best
To never do it again,
I am not perfect,
And I know this,
If I tell you I love you,
It's because I really do,
If I give you a gift,
It came from my heart,
When I go to sleep at night,
I am comfortable with the day I've lived,
I have no regets,
I don't look back,
Or carry my sorrows in a sack,
I am secure in who I am,
I love who I am,
Yet I am not vain,
I am a mother,
I am a daughter,
I am a sister,
I am an Aunt,
I am a friend,
I am a lover to someone who loves me,
I am me,
What you see is what you get.
