Antique plates on the mantle'
Separate along cracks,
Grind and fail without notice
Like simmering disunity.
Impact of the upheaval
Radiates a tsunami of despair,
Destroyed wealth and heirlooms
A loss to reach and touch
Unborn generations.
But the limitless capacity
To care for our siblings
May rekindle harmony,
Strengthen family,
And build new traditions.
