A Playthrough of the FreeSpace 2 Modification Into the Halls of Valhalla created by the ItHoV Team in 2006 on Insane Difficulty by Novachen.

After we left Tania Australis, we were transferred to the GVD Hedret, his commanding officer, Admiral Phe-tu know about McCarthy's actions during the Great War. Because he do not trust him, he ordered us to scan the GTD Valhalla to get some information.
Hints:
After the start of the mission, close the distance to the Valhalla group and fly behind it.
Observe the Apollo fighters, and scan the GTC Inferno, when the Apollos are fly to the other side of the Valhalla.
You should be able to reach and to scan the GTC Grey Hawk in the same approach.
After you finish your scan, get some distance to the Valhalla group again and try to reach the other side of it without getting notice.
Now wait until the Apollos fly back to the side where the ships are you scanned before and approach the GTC Stout to scan it.
Now wait until the Apollo fly are on the other side of the Valhalla to approach and to scan the GTA Inquisitive to perform the Secondary Objective. Of course you can change to order of scanning. It should also work to begin your scan with the Grey Hawk and then Inferno, Inquisitive and Stout in one flight. But because you are not in hurry, you can take your time and you do not need to try risky maneuvers.
Now the harder task of the mission begin, the scanning of the GTD Valhalla.
Because the AWACS was the last ship i scanned, i suggest to target the Navigation system first. Get into a position, in which you can approach this subsystem directly.
Approach this subsystem when the Apollos are again on the other side of the Valhalla, scan it and fly back to your initial position.
Now target the next, it should be the Weapons subsystem. Because the Patrols should landing on the Valhalla, you should have enough time to scan it together with the Sensor subsystem, before the next patrol wing show up.
Now observe the newly arrived Psycho wing, it consists of GTF Hercules, but their pattern should not be very different to the Apollo's. So you should not have a problem to scan the Navigation system to perform your Primary objective.
For another secondary objective, you are ordered to scan the subsystems of the GTD Infiltrator. Because there are no fighters around, this is a very easy task. So scan it and return to the GTD Hedret.
If you are near the fighter bay of the vasudan destroyer, this mission ends automatically.
