Each week on “The Global African” host Bill Fletcher, Jr. addresses issues facing Africa and the African Diasporas. Today's program focuses on the revolutionary and anti-imperialist government of the Caribbean island of Grenada under the popular leader Maurice Bishop from 1979-to 1983. Despite its small size Grenada had tremendous significance, due to its location, its being the first such revolution in an English-speaking country, and its social achievements. But the revolutionary government was overthrown by a faction of the military and the country was subsequently invaded by the United States and a puppet regime installed. What did Grenada represent and what went wrong? Fletcher interviews Don Rojas, press secretary to Bishop. teleSUR
