To draw workers of their offices and into the stores for Black Friday sales a Sao Paulo fashion retailer enlisted the help of drone-equipped mannequins.
Just because a country doesn’t celebrate American Thanksgiving, it doesn’t mean that they should miss out on the day after deals. The Brazilian city of Sao Paulo recognizes this, and has a blowout sale day of their own.
The problem is that there, like here, Black Friday is still a workday for many, so to draw people out of their offices and into the stores a Sao Paulo fashion retailer enlisted the help of drones.
Each one launched had a mannequin attached to it that was wearing the Brazilian clothing company’s wares.
There were also price tags affixed to the ensembles, alerting potential shoppers of the store’s upcoming low, low prices.
The specific area targeted by the company was the posh neighborhood of Vila Olimpia, which houses the city’s business district.
Many of the individuals who work there are quite focused and can prove tough to distract, let alone entice.
To get their attention, the mannequins and the short-term offers were flown up the windowed sides of commercial buildings.
How big were the bargains? Polo shirts were going for as little as the equivalent of 12 US dollars, and the prices of suits started at just under 40 bucks.
