Searching for AirAsia wreckage in rough seas, rushing to ID bodies already found

An Indonesian search team battles the choppy waters to retrieve another body from AirAsia Flight 8501.

Ships and aircraft are criss-crossing the seas off Borneo in search of the wreckage and roughly 130 people still unaccounted for.

Some 30 bodies have been recovered since the plane crashed last Sunday while en route to Singapore, but strong winds and heavy seas are hampering the search.

The bodies are being brought to this tarmac in numbered coffins, for a dignified transport to a police hospital in nearby Surabaya.

That's where forensics experts are rushing to ID the remains, as police collect DNA samples and photographs from relatives to speed up the process.

Once ID'ed the bodies are handed over to the families .... in tearful ceremonies like this one.

One of the three crash victims in this handover ceremony was an AirAsia flight attendant, partially identified because of her uniform.
