A car bomb exploded outside a police college in Yemen's capital Sanaa early Wednesday (January 7).
Police sources said it killed around 30 people and wounded more than 50 others.
The blast happened as people were lining up to enroll in the college.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
Turmoil in Yemen has escalated since September when the Shi'ite Muslim Houthi militia seized Sanaa, prompting fears of sectarian conflict.
The Sunni group Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQA) has staged numerous of bombings and shootings across the country and further stepped up its campaign after the Houthi advance.
