Storm drains are effective at keeping roadways clear of excess water, but occasionally they can be problematic for animals. Recently a Siberian husky got trapped inside one in San Diego.

The lower body of the one-and-a-half-year old pooch was lodged in the opening while her head and one of her front paws were sticking out facing the road. The County of San Diego Department of Animal Services shared the canine’s plight on Facebook and pointed out that two Animal Control Officers were sent to the scene to assist.

Upon arrival, they learned the dog had some wiggle room because as soon as she spotted the officers heading her way she fully retreated into the drain. The officers focused on blocking the pipe at the end to prevent her from going deeper and then walked her to a metal grate. There, a Good
