Voters across Greece headed to the polls on Sunday, January 25, to cast their vote in the country’s general election. Polls put anti-austerity party Syriza, which has vowed to “cancel austerity” and stop payments on Athens’ bailout debt, at a six-point lead ahead of the election.
Speaking at a rally in Athens on January 22, Syriza party leader Alexis Tsipras said, “On Monday, national humiliation will be over. We will finish with orders from abroad.” This video is described as showing Tsipras casting his vote in Kipseli, Athens. Credit: YouTube/Katja Lihtenvalner
