Rap music producer Suge Knight is likely to spend the weekend in police custody following a fatal hit and run in Los Angeles.
Police said he ran over two people with a pick up truck at a fast food restaurant, killing one and injuring the other before fleeing.
Knight surrendered to police with his solicitor to take questions from homicide detectives, according to the LA County Sheriff’s Department. He was later arrested.
Knight’s Death Row Records was a top record label in the ’90s featuring artists such as MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre.
Knight’s hip-hop empire declined after he was imprisoned for a parole violation. Tupac was shot dead and Dr. Dre left the label.
