The 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show saw Mercedes premiere its "4MATIC" all-wheel drive, in an E-Class T model. Today Mercedes-Benz's 4x4 family comprises some 75 models. The inclusion of all-wheel drive in the GLA means it's also made the crossover into the compact segment.
