When Blythe and the pets travel to Shanghai to attend a ceremony honoring Mrs. Twombly as originator of Kung Fu Quilting, Penny Ling finds herself reunited with family she never knew she had. After sharing an awkward meal with them on the night of Mrs. T.'s ceremony, Penny Ling comes to realize that Blythe, Mrs. T. and the pets are also family.
