Yasuhiro Hanatani and Hiroyoshi Manome describe the bold first ascent of the South Pillar of Kyashar (6769m) which earned them a 2013 Piolets d'Or nomination. The Piolets d'Or committee described their climb as 'A coveted line, having been the goal of at least seven previous expeditions ... one of the finest technical alpine-style climbs in Nepal last autumn.'
