When the early-'70s Canadian pop/rock group known as the Wackers fell apart, two of its former members, bassist Bill Trochim and guitarist Bob Segarini, decided to come up with their own creation, the Dudes. The duo brought new members in to flesh the band out, including drummers Ritchie Henman and Wayne Cullen, and guitarists David Henman and Brian Greenway. All of the guys helped out with the vocals.

In 1975, the Dudes recorded a debut album, We're No Angels, released by CBS. The result was one hit single, "I Just Wanna Dance." Before the recording of a sophomore offering could get under way, most of the members moved on to other endeavors. Segarini carried on, completing another EP, Starlight. It was a last offering.
Over two decades after the Dudes' life came to a quick and painless end, Pacemaker Records pulled out the group's recordings and placed them on one album titled All the Young Dudes, All the Old Demos.
