WHITE HOUSE PETITION WANTS SENATORS CHARGED WITH TREASON
Over 136 000 American citizens have signed this petition posted to the White House`s website on Monday March 9. They are calling for criminal charges against 47 Republican senators who they say committed a treasonous offense by trying to sabotage current negotiations between the United States and Iran as they try to reach a nuclear energy agreement.
Earlier on this week, the 47 Republican senators sent an open letter addressed to “leaders of the Islamic Republic of Iran”. The letter declared that any nuclear deal they sign with President Barack Obama`s administration won`t last after Obama leaves office, saying any agreement could be reversed by the next president.
Words that have been widely condemned by American web users, who in addition to signing the White House petition, have also taken to social networks in their droves, voicing their outrage and anger with the Republican senators under the #47traitors. Many say the rogue senators behind the controversial letter are simply seeking to hurt president Obama, by unravelling the framework agreement between the US and Iran as negotiators grow close to reaching it. They say the 47 senators should be prosecuted and punished, because the letter undercuts foreign policy, and could have a very serious impact on relations between the two countries…
