Peru: Women seek adequate maternity leave

Peruvian lawmakers will vote on a proposal to add 8 days of maternity leave to the 90 days now granted to expectant mothers, a measure that is opposed by conservative congressmen. Venezuela, Chile and Cuba provide the highest number of days for maternity leave in Latin America, while Peru and the United States are among the countries that provide the lowest.
