In what is a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court has struck down a draconian law which called for prison term for posting offensive content on social media. Court has said that #Section66A of the Information Technology Act infringes upon a person's right to know. The apex court also added that this clause has been widely misused by the Police and governments in the past to settle political scores over rivals.
