We at Jan Mar Awards would like to help you with your award and Trophy needs. A general award given to an employee has several levels to reach the highest impact on your employees.
The best incentive programs have 3 components:
The first piece seems obvious, public appreciation. Make the presentation in front of a group and have the winner's name recorded on a perpetual plaque which is hung on a wall in your lobby or office where everyone can see who the winners are. That plaque reminds everyone who "the big dogs are for that month" and motivates people to put in the all the extra effort required to get their name onj the wall next month!
The second piece of the incentive program is the personal award. If your company gives something engraved like a crystal award, an acrylic piece or some other custom award, make sure it can be easily displayed either a shelf at the office or in a home (plaques are good, but i know that my wife won't let me hang a plaque on the wall at home, so something on a shelf probably works best). Every time the salesperson sees it, they'll remember the praise and glory they received when winning it. Seeing it, they'll want to win again. Also, keep in mind, the award your salesperson recieves is a reflection of how much you value their efforts. A paper certificate just won't have the same effect as a nice crystal or acrylic award or even a nice clock to tie in with something like the "time and effort" put in to earn the sales award.
And finally, the part most often forgotten. Do something for the significant other of the winner. Movie tickets, a dinner or a weekend away depending on your budget. It will be a nice treat and it will help them be supportive of the extra work and time that's required to become a salesperson of the month.
