The decision by the Peruvian Congress to remove Prime Minister Ana Jara and the required resignation of the rest of the presidential cabinet has provoked a governmental political crisis that has come to a head. President Ollanta Humala must either appoint a new cabinet that can obtain parliamentary approval or call new legislative elections. In the congressional vote, the left-wing parties voted for the motion proposed by the right-wing opposition, due to their opposition to Humala's neo-liberal policies. Humala must present the proposed cabinet Thursday night and Congress has 30 days to approve it. Rael Mora reports from Lima. teleSUR
