An Iranian-British woman jailed in Tehran last year for her involvement in a protest concerning Iran’s prohibition against women attending sporting events has been pardoned.

An Iranian-British woman jailed in Tehran last year for her involvement in a protest concerning Iran’s prohibition against women attending sporting events has been pardoned. 


The incident resulting in her arrest occurred last June when Ghoncheh Ghavami and a group of activists stood outside Tehran's Azadi Stadium demanding admittance.

She was arrested and ultimately placed in a rather infamous local prison.
