The cold winter is over and flowers of all colors are beginning to bloom all across Korea. Jirisan Mountain with its yellow cornelian cherry blossoms is seeing a rush of hikers ready to embrace the new spring. However, this spells emergency and alert for those who have to ensure their safety. There are two mountain rescue teams in Jirisan Mountain, the Suncheon Fire Station Mountain Rescue Team and the Civiliam Mountain Rescue Team. As hiking injuries are concentrated in the months from February to May, they have to train with extraordinary discipline to be prepared at all times.
