For the first time in 250 years, a bald eagle family living near the Susquehanna River in the Codorus State Park have had a pair of eaglets. The second egg hatched on March 25th as viewers watched live footage from the webcam, which was installed by the Pennsylvania Game Commission back in December of 2014.

Over 640,000 people around the world have tuned in to watch footage of the eagles nesting. Some people even check in every day to watch the lives of the bald eagle family play out in real time. The bald eagle family garnered worldwide interest after footage surfaced of one of the bald eagle parents protecting the eggs from the harsh winter, which has brought significant snowfall.

In the nest there are two eaglets that will now be competing for food from the parents. Statistics show that only half of all eagles that hatch end up surviving long enough to leave the nest.
