A gas station clerk defied a near death experience when thieves rammed a stolen truck into a convenience store south of the Texas Medical Center, early Tuesday morning.
Houston police say four robbers left empty handed after smashing their way into a Shell station on Almeda at Old Spanish Trail around 3 a.m.
The crooks backed a white Ford F-250 pickup truck into the front of the store, hitting the new night shift employee, Qadir Rahman.
The crooks loaded the store's ATM into the back of the pickup truck, but when they tried to drive off the vehicle stalled.
The four african american suspects wearing bandanas and hoodies left behind their loot and stolen vehicle, taking off on foot.
Rahman suffered minor injuries, but store owner Zafer Ahmed said his new hire is lucky to be alive.
The ATM machine had roughly $3000 of cash inside.
The four suspects are still on the loose.
