A suspect associated with the double homicide of two cousins in a deserted parking lot in Taipei last week has been found and questioned by police.

The man, identified by his last name, Chen, has an arrest record for dealing ketamine. He explained that he and the cousins, who shared the last name Cai, drove up to Taipei to collect either money or drugs which a local Taipei gangster owed their boss, back in Taichung.

The Taipei boss had steadily shorted the Taichung boss, until he owed him USD $6K in illegal ketamine. Displeased--to put it lightly--the Taichung boss contacted the Taipei boss to discuss settling the debt. The Taipei gang boss agreed and told him to send some guys to pick up the drugs.

So the two Cai cousins, age 21 and 24, along with Chen drove to Taipei. They met with the Taipei gang boss at a hostess bar and were promised they’d get the drugs later that evening, in the meantime, the Taipei boss sent along one of his men to act as a tour guide.

Chen went to a hotel, not interested in the evening of drinking and other activities.

Early in the morning, the Cai cousins and their local guide drove into a mostly empty parking garage in the Ximen district of Taipei. One of the cousins left to buy drinks at a convenience store, that was when their guide turned assassin and shot the remaining cousin in the head. The assassin then put the body in the backseat and shot it three more times.

When the other cousin returned the assassin shoved him from behind and put two bullets in his head. He dumped the body in the backseat with his other victim.

The assassin then left the parking garage on foot, wiping down the gun as he went and tossing a smirk over his shoulder at the CCTV cameras. He encountered two women in the elevator as he left, but he was so calm the women didn’t notice anything.

Chen called the cousins the following morning and received no answer, but a few hours later when he saw the news about the double homicide he fled back to Taichung afraid for his own life.

Police are still investigating the case and searching for the assassin.
