The Canadian city of Edmonton has been shocked by a murder-suicide case that resulted in nine deaths on Monday night.

Canadian police discovered the body of a middle-aged woman after responding to a weapons complaint on Monday evening.

Less than two hours later, officers were summoned by concerned family members to check on a man suffering depression. But the man was not at home.

At around midnight, officers returned to the household and found seven bodies. Three of which were adult females, two males and two children.

Officers then went to an Asian restaurant where an SUV belonging to the man was found. The man was found dead inside the restaurant. Police said he killed himself.

Authorities are not looking for anymore suspects and believe the homicides were not random acts but triggered by domestic violence or a dispute.
