A NASA-contracted rocket exploded early on Tuesday evening as it took off from the Virginia coast, resulting in a huge fireball but no reported deaths.

The Orbital Sciences Antares rocket and Cygnus cargo spacecraft took off at 6:22 p.m. ET from the Wallops Flight Facility along the Atlantic Ocean but ran into problems just seconds after takeoff.

The rocket was carrying around 5,000 pounds of cargo and experimental equipment to the International Space Station.

Footage from NASA’s video feed shows the rocket rising into the air for a few seconds before it starts to fall and hit the ground causing a massive explosion.

NASA said that the failure occurred six seconds after launch.
