Follow the music, admire the art, place yourself inside historic architecture, in Telesur's "Cultura Latina." In this week's program, host Mauricio Izquierdo first treats us to a traditional Peruvian breakfast, before moving on to Ecuador to meet the National Ballet. In Peru, we learn about beverages based on nutritious grains, like quinoa; roots, like maca; and the mixture of herbs and seeds with medicinal properties, which together make up the drink known as “emoliente.” Ecuador's National Ballet takes art to the community, performing different styles including classical ballet, contemporary dance and urban expression, free of charge. The performances often portray social issues. teleSUR
