If you were thinking that Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer Udta Punjab is about a light-hearted comedy or something, you are wrong!
So, what the film is about? Well, Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial venture looks at the increasing problem of drug abuse in Punjab. The thriller movie will also have a drug mafia and these four characters are probably related to the same in one way or another.
Not to forget, Alia Bhatt will be playing a drug addict in the movie. This will be a rather intense role to play as Mahesh Bhatt’s beti has never acted in that kind of space before.
Her portrayal of an abused and kidnapped youngster in Highway won her many accolades so she has a lot of pressure on her shoulders to outperform herself in Udta Punjab.
Will she be able to portray the role? Only time will tell…
