In the morning of March 15, 2015, Jejomar Castillo was born weighing 3.2 kilograms. But the boy had peculiar marks on his hands, feet, and face. These marks resemble the wounds suffered by Jesus Christ when he was crucified. These wounds bleed regularly and it doesn’t heal completely. The news about the so-called “blessed” child spread like wildfire, from the hospital and across the Philippines.
Little did they know, thousands had already gathered inside and outside the building, praying and chanting like “Welcome to the Saviour” and “Thank you God for sending Jejomar“
Ph.D. Merlyn Cruz, one of the country’s top microbiological experts said, “The baby boy suffers a very rare syndrome causing localized purpura, which is characterized by red or purple discolorations on the skin.”
She also said “I have to admit that this is an amazing case”, “Only a handful of similar cases have been recorded throughout history, and it’s the first time on a baby, so the scientific knowledge accumulated about his pathology is very scarce.
