Maryland Governor Larry Hogan Said Baltimore Should Prepare for More Disturbances. Protests have been continuous since Freddie Gray died in police custody on April 19, and a large march is planned in Baltimore for Mayday. Gray’s death has become the flashpoint of a nationwide debate about police use of lethal force and race relations. Hogan said he was concerned about keeping people safe who want to express their opinions because “other people just want to cause trouble and a lot of people could get hurt.” Meanwhile, the Deputy Police Commissioner gave new details about a timeline of Freddie Gray’s arrest and transport. However, he gave no details about what happened inside the vehicle while Gray was being transported or the names of the officers in the vehicle with Gray. Earlier 1,000 people took to the streets of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to show their support for the people of Baltimore. They chanted “Black Lives Matter” and read the names of people who have died in interactions with police officers. teleSUR
