A Popeyes manager from Channelview, Texas is claiming she lost her job after being robbed at gunpoint.
Marissa Holcomb told KHOU she was working a busy Tuesday night shift on March 31 when a man with a gun entered the restaurant and forced the employees to get on the ground.
Security camera footage released to KHOU shows a man wearing a red and yellow hat, dark shirt and jeans jumping over the restaurant counter and waving his gun around.
Holcomb said he grabbed the back of her shirt and demanded money.
“He told me to give him everything out of my safe,” she told KHOU.
Holcomb was only able to open her cash register drawer, which had roughly $400 in it. She said she didn’t have time to move the cash from the drawer to the register before the heist occurred.
A spokesperson for the store’s owner told KHOU it’s restaurant policy to hold employees liable for stolen cash once the drawer hits a certain limit. But Holcomb refused to pay.
“I just had a gun to me,” she said. “I’m not paying the money.”
Holcomb -- who has three children and a fourth on the way -- is looking for a new job.
The entire Popeyes franchise brings in roughly $2 billion in revenue, according to Forbes.
