A 20-year-old American woman who traveled to Islamic State territory in Syria is calling for attacks on her homeland.

Hoda Muthana left the U.S. in November last year after telling her family she was going on a school trip to Atlanta. She instead traveled to Syria via Turkey.

Using a different name on Twitter, Mothana called for American Muslims to "terrorize the kuffar". Kuffar is a derogatory Arabic term for non-Muslims.

She tweeted that Muslims in the US should go on drive bys and spill all of non-Muslim blood during parades and national holidays.

According to reports, Muthana became radicalized while studying the extremist interpretations that the Islamic State practices online.

Soon after arriving in Syria, Muthana married an Australian jihadist who was later killed in Jordanian airstrikes.

Muthana's father told Buzzfeed he now fears for his family's safety and future livelihood because of his daughter's actions.
