TJ Lane, a 19-year-old who was serving three life sentences for a school shooting rampage in Chardon, Ohio in 2012, has been re-captured after escaping from Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima, Ohio.
Lane broke out of prison at about 7:40 p.m. on Thursday after scaling a fence along with fellow inmates Clifford E. Opperud, 45, and another man, who was also later recaptured. Opperud, however, remains at large.
Lane, who attended a different school, was convicted of killing three students at Chardon High School in 2012 when he was 17. He fired 10 shots at a group of students at the school cafeteria using a .22-caliber pistol. The three students killed in the rampage were Russell King Jr., Demetrius Hewlin and Daniel Parmertor.
Lane was brought back into custody six hours after his escape, early Friday morning. He was found 100 yards away from the prison outside a church.
