A video of a Houston teen pinned down outside a classroom by three cops for having her cell phone out in class has gone viral.

Sophomore, Ixel Perez was in her English class when her teacher caught her using her cellphone.

The assistant principal attempted to confiscate the device, but the teen refused, so cops were sent after her.

Perez said she refused to give up her phone because she was concerned about her disabled mother.

Three Houston Independent School officers handcuffed the teen, but a student who caught the whole incident on their camera, uploaded the video to Instagram.

Perez’s parents are outraged at how authorities treated their daughter and members of the surrounding community have demonstrated in silent protests outside the school.

The Houston Independent School District is investigating the incident, but have not commented on how the cops handled this matter.
