Two propeller planes collided over the San Pablo Bay near San Francisco on Sunday.

A Cessna 210 piloted by a single individual, as well as a classic Hawker Sea Fury TMK 20, both took off from regional airports on April 27.

For reasons still under investigation, the two aircraft collided.

The damaged Hawker managed to land safely, but the Cessna crashed into the bay. Rescue workers spotted debris from the plane and are searching for the pilot.

The Hawker Sea Fury was once one of the fastest single piston military aircraft in the skies and today is still flown by hobbyists. Light aircraft maker Cessna has manufactured more planes than any other company on earth.
