Australia on Thursday (March 20) said that satellite imagery spotted two objects floating in the southern Indian Ocean that could be wreckage from missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
According to the Reporter, the objects were found some 2,500 kilometres south west of Perth. One object is reported to be as large as 24 meters wide while the other one is much smaller. Four aircraft have been sent to the area to confirm whether the objects are related to the flight MH370.
However, the Australian maritime authority said it had not been able to confirm if the objects were debris from the missing plane due to poor visibility and weather at the scene, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
The search for the missing flight MH370 entered its 13th day on Thursday. The plane went missing on March 8. Twenty-six countries are continuing to search two vast arcs of land and sea for the missing jet, with the search area covering 2.24 million square nautical miles.
