Police have arrested the son-in-law and neighbor of an elderly Tennessee couple who were killed when a parcel bomb exploded at their rural Lebanon home on the evening of Monday (February 10).
After originally believing the parcel had been delivered to the residence, police now say retired lawyer John Setzer, 74, collected the parcel from his mailbox and carried it back into the house where it exploded, blowing out windows at the front and back of the house.
The blast killed retired lawyer Setzer on the spot. His wife Marion, 72, was seriously hurt and succumbed to her injuries at a Nashville hospital two days later.
Richard Parker, 49, who lives next door to the couple, was arrested shortly after detectives found a note that may have been attached to the bomb.
Investigators have not divulged a motive for the killings. Parker, the sole suspect, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
