Matthew Terrell of Oceanside, California, is accused of posing as a photographer and then tying up a college student model at a Motel 6 "fashion shoot."

Terrell met the alleged 20-year-old victim via OkCupid and they exchanged messages. Terrell offered the woman $50 an hour to model athletic wear. The college student said she needed the money so she agreed.

Terrell and the alleged victim had agreed to meet at a different location, but then he allegedly changed plans and asked to meet at a Motel 6 on 1006 Carlsbad Village Drive. The woman said when she arrived, she saw a number of athletic shorts for her to wear.

Terrell suggested she make a pose with her arms clasped behind her back. That is when Terrell allegedly managed to restrain the college student with zip-ties.

The college student began to resist. Terrell allegedly pushed her onto the bed and struggle ensued. She kicked and screamed, alerting other Motel 6 guests who called police.

The woman testified in court: "[He] pushed me to the center of the room, to the bed, and then I started resisting because I realized that, kind of what was going on. I was in shock ... I couldn't believe this was actually happening."

But she also said Terrell did not strike or hit her or attempt to remove her clothes.

Authorities said they discovered Terrell in possession of zip-ties and duct tape. He faces charges of suspicion of false imprisonment with violence and assault with the intent to commit rape or a sexual act.
