The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) used upgraded ammunitions against the Special Action Force (SAF) commandos in their clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao. According to a former Philippine National Police (PNP) official, these arms were made from MILF's own weapon factory.
