Thai police on Monday arrested the driver of a missing businessman after he confessed to murdering his boss, according to a Bangkok Post report. Santiphap Pengduang admitted murdering his former employer, telling police he was angered by Mr. Akeyuth Anchanbutr's firing of his girlfriend.

Police believe the 24-year-old allegedly conspired with two friends to murder and rob Akeyuth. The suspect had previously told police he had driven Mr. Akeyuth to various locations before they separated, prior to his employer's disappearance. Police say the chauffeur cashed a 5 million bhat check, signed by his employer.

Authorities flew the suspect to Phatthalung province to identify the location where he allegedly murdered Akeyuth and retrieve the buried body. Relatives of Mr Akeyuth say they do not believe Mr Santiphap's version of events.
