A woman died on Friday after being robbed and beaten by a man while she was walking to Taman Wahyu train station in Kuala Lumpur, the New Straits Times reported.
Cindy Loh Sing Ying was going to work at around 7am when a man approached her and tried to steal her bag.
She fought back but fell on the ground and was dragged by the man for about 10 metres. He tried to reach his car, a four-wheel vehicle, and left her on the street before driving away.
After he escaped, Loh was found lying on the ground in a semiconscious state by an elderly couple who was walking by. The couple also witnessed the scene, the New Straits Times reported.
The couple sought for help to a female soldier who was nearby, who called an ambulance to the scene to assist the woman. Loh was brought to Hospital Kuala Lumpur but was reported dead on arrival.
Police have classified the case as murder following the autopsy and from information offered by the witnesses.
