Patan: Adesh Pal, the man of controversies is once again in the lime light. The Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University (HNGU) has ordered enquiry into Rs 1.5 lakh books scam. The executive committee (EC) of HNGU has appointed a three-member committee to inquire the case. Notably, the EC had suspended the head of English department Adesh Pal for financial irregularities. He had taken an advance to the tune of Rs 1.5 lakh in 2009 for publishing three books. But even after five years he remained silent on the matter of use of the money. He could publish just one book instead of the three proposed. Pal is also director of the Indian diaspora department at HNGU and former vice-chancellor of Gujarat University.
